Electrical Panel Installation, Sub Panels and Breakers
Electrical panel installation, sub panels, and circuit breaker installation and repair.
Chapter 01
Signs the panel has run out of room
A panel is sized for the house it was built for, not the house you live in now. Add an EV charger, a mini split, a workshop or an electric range and the load grows while the panel stays the same. Pro Phase Electric installs and upgrades panels to meet modern energy demands: more circuits, room to grow, and a service that matches what the building actually runs today.
The signs are easy to spot. Breakers trip when two big loads run together, there are no open spaces left in the directory, circuits are doubled up to make room, or the panel feels warm to the touch. Sometimes a full replacement is not the answer. Hope Carroll's job was a sub panel, which adds capacity without replacing everything, and in her words it was completely required and all works great. Whether the answer is a new panel or a sub panel comes down to the load, the space and the existing wiring.

How a panel swap or a sub panel goes
It starts on paper: which circuits the house has, which ones it needs and what each one feeds. Then the circuits are de-energized, the old panel comes out and the new one goes in with each circuit landed one at a time. Every breaker gets a label so the directory tells the truth. Their own 2026 photo of a finished panel shows what that looks like, with AC, furnace, dryer, range and bathrooms each named.
Wiring gets dressed rather than stuffed: conductors routed in clean runs, bent to land square on the terminals, nothing pinched under the cover. It can look like fussiness, but loose or crowded connections are where heat and trouble begin. A sub panel follows the same discipline in a garage, shop or addition, fed from the main and labelled so the next person knows exactly what they are looking at.
Chapter 03
Circuit Breaker Installation & Repair: when a tripping breaker is the warning
A breaker's whole job is to trip. When it trips once because a hair dryer and a space heater shared a circuit, that is the system working. When it keeps tripping, something is wrong: an overloaded circuit, a failing breaker, a loose connection or a fault in the wiring. Resetting it again and again only postpones the answer. Pro Phase Electric handles circuit breaker installation and repair to protect your home from electrical overloads and outages.
Replacing a breaker is not always the fix, and the right call depends on what testing shows. A weak breaker gets replaced. An overloaded circuit needs its load split, which can lead back to a bigger panel conversation. A breaker that is hot to the touch or buzzing is a reason to call right away.
